Poker Bankroll Tracker Alternative: How to Switch Without Losing Your History

The right Poker Bankroll Tracker alternative depends on what you are missing. If you want a coach that knows your game before, during and after a session, OctoCoach reads PBT’s CSV export and brings your history over in one step, for free. If you rely on PBT’s breadth, 40+ currencies, hand stats and staking, staying put is the honest answer.

Disclosure up front: OctoCoach is our product. Every claim about Poker Bankroll Tracker below comes from its own site, terms, manual, store listings or app, checked in October 2026, with a link wherever the source is a page.

TL;DR

  • Exporting your history from Poker Bankroll Tracker (PBT) to a CSV file is a Pro feature there: $29.99 a year or $199.99 for a lifetime license in the US App Store.
  • OctoCoach imports that file for free: cash sessions, tournaments with your place, the paid places, bounties, add-ons and re-entries, plus stakes, locations, breaks and notes.
  • Deposits, payouts, costs, bonuses, casino games and staking shares stay behind, and so do sessions in currencies other than shekels, dollars, euros and pounds.
  • Switch for coaching around your sessions; stay for PBT’s staking, currencies and hand stats.

Can you export your Poker Bankroll Tracker data?

Yes, as a CSV file, but only with PBT Pro. In the PBT phone app, open the menu, then “Account”, “Manage your data” and “Export to CSV”, tap “Export”, and download the file named PBT-Bankroll-Export.csv. On a free account the button answers “This feature is only available in the Pro version.”

PBT’s terms list “CSV import/export” among the Pro features, and its App Store listing prices Pro at $29.99 a year or $199.99 for a lifetime license (US store, October 2026). The export also needs you to be logged in and to finish any live session first, and we found it only in the phone apps, not in PBT’s desktop web app. It can produce three files: the bankroll file holds your sessions, while player notes and replayer hands come in files of their own.

PBT’s own FAQ recommends “creating regular CSV backups”, which is good advice whichever app you end up using.

How do you move your PBT history into OctoCoach?

Export PBT-Bankroll-Export.csv from Poker Bankroll Tracker, then in OctoCoach open History, the Sessions tab, and tap “Import PBT”. Choose the file, check the preview, and tap “Import All”. Your sessions arrive with a PBT badge, and the import itself is free.

  1. In PBT, export the CSV as above and save PBT-Bankroll-Export.csv to your phone or computer.
  2. In OctoCoach, open History, then the Sessions tab, and tap “Import PBT”.
  3. Choose the file. The preview shows how many rows were found, the first five sessions, and how many rows will be skipped and why.
  4. Tap “Import All”. Each session keeps its date, stakes, location and result, and carries a PBT badge.
  5. Changed your mind? Turn on the “PBT Imports Only” filter and tap “Delete import” to remove what the import added. Importing the same file again skips the sessions already there.
OctoCoach, Import from Poker Bankroll Tracker, preview step: 86 rows found, 3 bankroll entries that will be skipped, and the first five sessions with date, location and result (+$340, -$275, +$1,120, -$150, -$220), above the Cancel and Import All buttons.

What comes over from a PBT export, and what stays behind?

Your poker sessions come over: cash games and tournaments with stakes, buy-ins, rebuys, cash-outs, places, paid places, bounties, add-ons, breaks and notes. What stays behind is everything that is not a poker session or that OctoCoach does not track: deposits and payouts, costs, bonuses, casino games, staking shares, tags, field size, chip graphs and photos.

In your PBT fileIn OctoCoach
Cash: stakes, buy-in, rebuys, cash-outComes over
Tournaments: place, paid places, bounties, add-ons, re-entriesComes over
Breaks and session notesComes over
Shekels, dollars, euros, poundsComes over
Any other currencySkipped and listed
Deposits, payouts, costs, bonuses, casino gamesSkipped and listed
Staking shares, tags, field size, chip graphs, photosNot imported

Two details are worth knowing before you import. PBT’s buy-in excludes rebuys and add-ons, so OctoCoach adds them back to what you invested, and a re-entry at the buy-in price counts as another bullet. And a session where you sold action shows your full result in OctoCoach, because staking shares are not imported, while PBT’s netprofit column includes the share income. Expenses such as parking go into the session’s note and are not subtracted from the result.

Why do players look for a Poker Bankroll Tracker alternative?

Some of the sharpest public complaints are about the rules around the tracking rather than the tracking itself: exporting your own data is a Pro feature, free accounts see an ad every two hours, and the yearly price has risen. Other low ratings are about the product, from a crash after an update to an interface some find hard to learn. Plenty of players are happy with PBT, and its ratings are high.

PBT is a capable, long-running tracker, with 4.5 stars from 795 reviews and over 100,000 downloads on Google Play in October 2026. One Reddit user summed up the fans’ view in 2024: “Personally I think Poker Bankroll Tracker has every feature you could want.” Three complaints about the business model come up:

  • Export behind Pro. A Google Play reviewer wrote in April 2024: “They changed it so free version users can’t export their data, nasty move to trap users, made me quit using this app.” The developer replied: “We have to make a living too, which is why some features in the app are paid.”
  • Ads on the free tier. PBT’s advertising page says every free user “gets an advertisement every 2 hours. This must be viewed for at least 5 seconds before it can be closed.”
  • Price. In a 2023 reply on Google Play the developer put the yearly price at $14.99 in 2021 and $19.99 as the regular price; the US App Store lists $29.99 a year in October 2026. PBT’s FAQ explains that it prices Pro at 24.99 EUR a year and adjusts every other currency to the exchange rate once a year, so local prices can move either way.

What does OctoCoach do that a bankroll tracker does not?

OctoCoach is a mental-game coach built around the whole session: it helps you prepare before you play, checks in at natural pauses during the session, and debriefs with you afterwards, using your own logged sessions, hands, opponents and goals. A tracker records what happened; OctoCoach also works on why it happened.

The free plan covers the tracking side with no time limit: session and hand logging, opponent notes, mood and energy check-ins, history and statistics, and bankroll tracking. Its CSV export is free too, in the same column format as the import, so your history is never locked in.

Pro is $12 a month or $96 a year, with a 7-day trial and no credit card. It adds the coaching layer: a chat coach that knows your sessions and your tilt history, AI analysis of your hands, mid-session insights at your breaks, and the Bankroll Coach with a stake advisor, a shot planner and downswing perspective. During play your attention belongs on the game, so the in-session part lives at breaks and after big pots, never in the middle of a hand. More on the model: what an AI poker mindset coach actually does.

When should you stay with Poker Bankroll Tracker?

Stay if you use what PBT does best: more than 40 currencies with daily exchange rates, VPIP, PFR and 3-bet stats from tracked hands, a hand replayer, ICM and payout calculators, staking with share accounting, friends watching your sessions live, and native apps on iOS and Android plus a desktop web app. OctoCoach works in shekels, dollars and euros, keeps imported pounds, and has no staking accounting.

Those features come from PBT’s home page, its manual and its store listings; some of them are Pro, such as CSV export and, per the Pro table in the app, the detailed staking overview. If what you want is a free tracker and the ads do not bother you, PBT’s free tier stores unlimited sessions. OctoCoach runs as a web app on any device rather than a native app, and its tracking is built to feed the coaching, not to be the deepest stats tool in poker.
